NHPC, AR organizes medical camp at Joram

ITANAGAR, Mar 12: A free medical, eye screening and dental check-up camp was organized at Joram on 10 March by the NHPC under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (SD) activities in association with the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar.
Eighteen patients, who were detected with cataract, will be operated at RKM Hospital free of cost.
Medicines and spectacles were also given for free to the needy patients. The cost of the spectacle frames was borne by the Joram Area Welfare Society, the coordinator of the health camp.
The camp mainly benefited the locals, especially the elderly people.
Dr KK Singh and Dr C Pandey from Subansiri Lower Project, Dr Abu Taba, LO, Itanagar and Dentist Specialist Dr Aishwary Pratap Singh from RKM Hospital conducted the camp.
Yachuli ADC JT Obi and ZPM Joram Yania were also present.
This was the concluding medical camp under CSR and SD initiative by Itanagar based liaison office of the NHPC for the fiscal year 2017-18.
The Assam Rifles (AR) under aegis of Dao division also conducted a series of pre monsoon medical camps in their area of operation at various circles under Changlang district recently.
The medical camps were conducted at Chinsa under Kantang circle, Khimyong, Old Changlang and Phangtip under Yatdam circle.
Over 300 villagers attended the camps, which were conducted in congruence with the NERCORMP (North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project).
