WAKRO, Mar 29: Santosh Kapoor of the Lohit Brigade dedicated the Beena Ghose Roy (BGR) Scheme for free education at the BGR Enclave here in Lohit district on Thursday.
The Anu Shiksha Seva Trust (ASST) released financial assistance of Rs 3, 58,000 for the scheme, which was handed over by Kapoor to Pritty Tindya on behalf of the beneficiaries.
At least 18 rural school children are expected to benefit from the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Kapoor advised the students to give top priority to studies and to always respect their teachers.
Several others also contributed generously to the BGR Scheme. An interaction programme was also held with members of the Wakro Women’s Welfare Association.
