IBCS raises concern over drug peddling in monastery premises

ITANAGAR, Apr 1: The Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS) has expressed serious concern over the rampant movement of drug peddlers and unwanted elements within the Thupten Gatseling Monastery premises.
Although it submitted a memorandum to the home minister in this regard, no action has yet been initiated, the ICBS said, and appealed to the citizens to maintain the sanctity of the monastery.
Meanwhile, the ICBS conducted a cleanliness drive in the monastery premises on Sunday.
IBCS members, with the assistance of college and university students cleaned up the debris left behind by the recent thunderstorm which uprooted trees and damaged roads at some locations.
