ITANAGAR, Apr 6: Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner In-charge, Talom Dupak has directed concessionaire TK Engineering to sprinkle water on the Papu Nallah to Vivek Vihar stretch of NH-415 – wherever construction activities are underway – at regular intervals everyday.
The sprinkling of water should be done between 10 am and 12 noon, 2 pm and 4 pm, and 7 pm and 9 pm, the DC stated in the order he issued on Friday.
He said violation of the order would be viewed seriously ‘and the project manager of TK Engineering will be held responsible and action will be taken as per various provisions of the law.’
The order was issued after it was observed that, because of earth-cutting and other construction activities on NH-415, the environment has been polluted with increased presence of dust and other particles which are causing inconvenience to the denizens.
Dupak has also directed the capital complex SP, the EACs of Itanagar and Naharlagun, and the OCs of Itanagar and Naharlagun police stations to ‘personally monitor’ the water-sprinkling activity and submit reports to his office. (DIPRO)
