NAMSAI, Apr 7: A team from the union women & child welfare ministry, headed by undersecretary Satyawan arrived here on Friday on a four-day visit to monitor the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) in the district.
The team held a meeting with the deputy director and the CDPOs on PMMVY implementation, and visited anganwadi centres in the three ICDS projects to interact with pregnant women who are the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Satyawan was apprised of the difficulties faced by the department at the grassroots and the project levels in implementing the PMMVY due to poor internet connectivity and non-enrollment of eligible beneficiaries for Aadhaar, bank accounts, etc.
Satyawan assured to take up the issues with the department for redress.
He also met Namsai Deputy Commissioner RK Sharma and informed him about the purpose of his visit.
Sharma suggested having a review meeting after his field visit.
