RBI conducts field level literacy prog

TAWANG, Apr 18: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Guwahati with support of the Tawang SBI branch has organized a one-day field level literacy programme for the government officers, bankers, panchayat members and common people at Zomkhang Hall here on Wednesday.
The main objective of the programme is to educate the members on active savings, bank transactions, borrowing and repayment of loans on time, lodging of grievances with Banking Ombudsman, etc.
In his address, Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok requested banking institutes to increase the low CD ratio in the district and to give equal importance to borrowers and depositors. He also called for proactive role from the bankers for successful implementation of the various social security schemes of the government.
Earlier, a mass social service was carried out in the entire township and all the villages of the district as part of Swachh Bharat Parv under Gram Swarojgar Yojana. The programme was jointly organized by the district administration, PHE, Urban Development & Housing departments. (DIPRO)
