Fire Service Week concludes

NAHARLAGUN, Apr 20: The weeklong statewide awareness campaign of the Arunachal Pradesh Fire & Emergency Services, which was conducted as part of the Fire Service Week, concluded on Friday.
Fire & Emergency Services SP Kime Aya informed that officers and firefighters from all 23 fire stations in the state carried out awareness and demonstration programmes.
In the capital complex, live demonstrations were held at several high-rise buildings, including hospitals, schools, and hotels. On the concluding day, awareness programmes were held at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences and the RK Mission Hospital.
More than 200 firefighters were engaged in the awareness programmes during the week, under the theme ‘Fire loss is the national loss’.
Aya appealed to the people to be careful and take precautionary measures while constructing houses, commercial buildings and shopping complexes.
In Naharlagun, Station Officer Sujit Chakraborty, Sub-Fire Officers PC Roy, Likha Tana and G Lilung, and 28 firefighters were part of the campaign.
In Itanagar, Station Officer Koj Taro, Sub-Officer Nabam Dokho and 21 firefighters were involved in the demonstration and awareness programmes held at 12 different locations during the week.
