Internship trg for forestry students concludes

ITANAGAR, Apr 27: The 90-day internship training programme on ‘forestry and fieldwork experience’ organized by the State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) for BSc final year forestry students from NERIST concluded on Friday.
During the certificate distribution programme held in the SFRI’s conference hall, SFRI Director Dusu Shra requested the passing out batch to “bear the social responsibility and to be more responsible towards the community.”
SMPB & DCF (Ind) Member Secretary T Gapak advised the students to be “more responsible as custodians of forestry, which is a common property and has challenging activities in conserving forest resources.”
PCCF (RE) Surya Prakash urged the students to be more enterprising than simply running into government jobs. He also advised them to involve themselves in sustainable approaches to development, without harming the ecology and the environment.
Forest geneticist Dr G Murtem and soil scientist RK Taj also spoke.
