TAWANG, May 5: A two days free super speciality health camp, organized by the District Health Society, Tawang in collaboration with Indian Medical Association, began at the district hospital here on Saturday.
More than 1700 underprivileged patients suffering from various ailments are availing the benefits of the health camp, and those patients requiring surgery will be operated free of cost at the district hospital on 6 May, informed coordinator of the health camp Dr Sangey Thinley of the Tawang district hospital.
Sponsor of the health camp, Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi hailed the IMA members and the medical team for providing medical service to the poor patients free of cost. Taking the opportunity, he donated Rs 2 Lakh to the district hospital for purchasing medicines.
Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phunstok, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jambey Tsering, DMO Dr Wangdi Lama and Medical Superintendant Dr N Namshoom were also present during the inaugural function. (DIPRO)
