Performance of BLOs, ELCs assessed

HAWAI, May 15: Officers and supervisors under the Anjaw district election office on Tuesday took part in an assessment programme aimed at upscaling and monitoring the activities of booth level officers (BLO) and Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs), with special emphasis on the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls with 1 January, 2019, as the qualifying date.
District Election Officer (DEO) Mamata Riba asked the ELCs and the nodal officers engaged in the special summary revision to strictly adhere to the calendar of pre-revision and revision activities issued by the Nirvachan Bhawan, Itanagar.
DIO Dheeraj Kumar made a PowerPoint presentation to familiarize the officers with ELCs and the voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT).
The DEO later held a review meeting with representatives of political parties regarding the calendar activities of the Special Summary Revision of Intensive Nature-2019; involvement of political parties in ELCs; status of polling stations; and active involvement of designated BLAs.
