SILUK, May 17: Etor Gidi was celebrated with pomp and gaiety at Siluk village in East Siang district on Thursday.
Siluk ASM Delem Damin and Silukian Welfare Kebang president Osup Ratan inaugurated the iron ‘Sotkiang’, which was constructed by Mibang Sirum.
Damin in her inaugural address lauded Sirum’s initiative and urged the villagers to preserve their tradition and culture. Ratan distributed local ugon and shawls to all the Delong dancers.
Migen Damin won the Mr Delong title for dancing accurately to the tune of Miri Abu Asik Yirang.
