INJAN, May 19: Nurses of Seva Kendra Arunachal East (SKAE) are participating in a fortnight-long refresher course which got underway at Krick and Bourry Memorial Hospital (KBMH) here in Changlang district on 15 May.
SKAE is the social service wing of the Miao diocese. The nurses are serving at 17 primary health centres in 160 interior villages of the state.
On the first day of training, gynaecologist Dr Rose Tom and KBMH chief nurse Sr Elizabeth explained to the nurses the procedures of providing proper antenatal care to expectant mothers. The duo stressed that proper antenatal care would mean a healthy mother and child and reduce the infant mortality rate in the state.
Earlier, Bishop George lauded the nurses and SKAE director Sr Rincy for their selfless service in remote villages of the state.
