Marken Lollen wins 1st season of AYSS

ITANAGAR, MAY 21: Marken Lollen has won the first season of the Arunachal Young Singing Stars (AYSS) competition. He walked away with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with a certificate and a trophy.
Sonam Kumari and Nyonyok Talom finished second and third, respectively. Preety Rai and Nabam Nima got the consolation prizes.
Giving away the prizes at the end of the grand finale at Siddhartha Hall here on Sunday, PWD Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso appealed to the people of the capital complex to uphold the glory of the state capital.
“Every citizen of the capital has an important role to play to make Itanagar the best capital of the country,” Kaso said. Lauding the organizing team for promoting music, Kaso said the AYSS would go a long way in promotion of the music and culture of the state.
Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan, who also attended the event, said there are multiple opportunities for talented youths of the state, “but sincerity, devotion and dedication are a must to succeed.”
He emphasized on the need to keep the capital clean and green, and urged the people to properly utilize the dustbins in the capital and not damage them.
Among others, Capital SP Sagar Singh Khalsi, IMC Councillor Donik Tayu, and Education Development Society chairman Sanjay Dolo attended the programme.
AYSS organizing chairman Kejum Payeng Cherom and organizing secretary Techi Sunny Tara also spoke.
One hundred contestants from the capital complex and adjoining areas participated in the competition which had started on 26 March.
