Training on large cardamom cultivation, craft-making underway

ROING, May 30: Training programmes on large cardamom plantation and local craft-making are underway at Kera Ati village in Lower Dibang Valley district.
The programmes are being organised by the Change Foundation (CF) in collaboration with the horticulture and the textile & handicrafts departments.
The trainers for the large cardamom plantation have been drawn from the KVK and the Spice Board here, while local craftsmen are imparting training on craft-making.
The trainees will also be taken on a field trip to a large cardamom field during the training period, informed CF chairman CF Hapi Mene.
The programme was inaugurated at the multipurpose hall in Kera Ati on Tuesday by public leader of Hunli-Desali block, Longe Miso, in the presence of ASMs and other panchayat members of the block.
The programme is sponsored by the government of India under the BADP 2017-’18 for the people of Hunli-Desali circle.
