Trg on gender budgeting commences

NAHARLAGUN, May 30: A three-day training on gender budgeting for senior officers of various departments commenced at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) here on Wednesday.
The training programme is being held in two batches- for state level and district level officers, respectively.
The objective is to sensitize the officers on gender equality as well as inequality for preparing a gender bias-free budget, informed ATI Director Pate Marik.
Marik said efforts should be made to give equal opportunity to all sections of society, including transgender, by the government departments and policymaking authorities while formulating policies and preparing budgets.
Retired associate professor SK Sharma, Principal of Govt College Doimukh Dr MQ Khan, Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission Chief Operating Officer Dr Rakesh Srivastava, Family Welfare Deputy Directors
Drs Bengia Mala and Runi Tasung, senior journalist Pradeep Behera, and CDPO DK Thungon are the resource persons of the training.
