KHONSA, Jun 5: Borduria MLA Wanglin Lowangdong on Tuesday inaugurated the 4 km PMGSY road from Loggo to Chasa in Tirap district, constructed by the rural works department.
He also inaugurated a community hall in Loggo, which was constructed with MLALAD fund, and laid the foundation stone for the circle headquarters office there.
Addressing a gathering of people from Loggo and Ranglamja areas, Lowangdong said the notification for creation of the Loggo CO HQ had been issued in 2014 but the project had been delayed because of land issues.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by the locals, he assured to sanction fund for a de-addiction centre in Tupi village, for a boundary wall around the community hall in Loggo, and for a water supply project for Loggo and Chasa villages.
Tirap DC PN Thungon, who accompanied the MLA, emphasized on the importance of education. Lamenting that the CBSE results of the government secondary schools in Kapu and Soha were the worst in the district, he instructed the DDSE to conduct counselling with headmasters, teachers and students of the two schools to improve the schools’ performance in the future.
Former ZPC Lorang Loham praised Lowangdong for the works initiated under his leadership, such as construction of roads, upgrading of schools, creation of PHCs in Kapu, Paniduria and Borduria, and water supply and electricity connections. (DIPRO)
