DC’s transfer opposed

ITANAGAR, Jun 8: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) in a representation to the chief minister on Friday appealed to him to not initiate transfer proceeding against Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Chukhu Takar and allow him to continue in his current post.
Expressing opposition to the Apatani Youth Association’s (AYA) recent demand for Takar’s transfer, the ANSU said, “We are aware of the concerns of the general public of the district who have been facing hardships due to the Trans-Arunachal Highway compensation disbursement scam issue, and we also believe that the truth behind the matter be unearthed soon.
“However, the representation of the AYA, seeking transfer of DC Chukhu Takar and posting a new DC from the IAS cadre in his place came as a surprise, for he has been posted to the district for just a month now.”
It said the AYA representatives should not question the DC’s efficiency when he has been in the district for only a month now.
