Former PI passes away

PASIGHAT, Jun 12: Samak Jamoh, who served as political interpreter (PI) in 1951 and later as a social and cultural organizer, breathed his last on Tuesday morning at about 5 am in his private residence in Mirku. He was 98.
Jamoh is survived by his five children, and grandchildren.
His last rites were performed on the same day in Mirku.
Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering, Parliamentary Secretaries Kaling Moyong and Tatung Jamoh, Nari MLA Kento Rina, former minister Bosiram Siram, East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak, former ZPC Kaling Dai, former PMC chief councillor Kaling Doruk, and several others expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
They described Samak Jamoh as a good human being who would be remembered for his immense contributions to the society, and for the services he rendered in the state-building process.
They prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul, and for strength to the bereaved family. (DIPRO)
