AAPSU seeks Naidu’s attention to higher edn institutes in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Jun 15: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has sough to draw the attention of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu – who is currently in the state on a two-day visit – towards the recent developments in the institutes of higher education in the state.
In a press release, the AAPSU said on Friday that the premier institutes of the state, like the Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, the National Institute of Technology, Jote, and the North East Regional institute of Science and Technology, Nirjuli, had been performing very well in producing human resources in the past.
“However, in the recent times, these institutes were in the news for all the wrong reasons,” the union said.
“While the recent hurried resignation of the director of the NIT has come as a great shock and surprise, the students of NERIST had to hit the streets with rallies and hunger strikes for a director,” it said.
The union appealed to the central as well as the state government to accord special attention to these institutes of higher education in the state.
