BJP BLC claims misuse of funds under SIDF

ITANAGAR, Jun 21: The booth level committee (BLC) of the Bharatiya Janata Party under Chambang circle has written to RWD Minister Bamang Felix regarding misuse of funds sanctioned under the Social and Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF).
The BLC said that there were already three under construction road projects in the district – Chambang to Korayer (22 crore), Korayer to Sangchang (23 crore) and Rongte-Ritey to Korayer (1.50 crore) – from the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
It claimed that there was duplicity of the scheme in the same location/ village as an amount of 1.50 crore was sanctioned under SIDF for 2017-18 for construction of approach road from Gallang to Korayer IV School (3 km).
“Instead of constructing a new road in the same village, the old and incomplete road should be first completed in a proper way and the SIDF of 2017-18 should be used for other important development work”, it said and asked the minister to intervene in the matter.
The BLC also wrote to the deputy commissioner of Kra Daadi district seeking immediate halt on the Multi-Sectoral Development Plan (MSDP) work for Government IV School, Korayer.
In its complaint letter, the BLC claimed that the MSDP work for the said school was awarded without floating tender.
“The mentioned work had been awarded through ‘pick and choose’ method and without any tender process”, it claimed and called on the DC to clarify and verify on the matter so that that government fund could be utilised as per norms.
