ROING, Jun 25: Denlo village under Koronu circle in Lower Dibang Valley district has been adopted as model village under the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana for Roing assembly constituency.
To implement the first phase of works identified by the villagers through the Gram Sabha, an interactive meeting with MLA Mutchu Mithi, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, HoDs and villagers was held at Denlo on Monday, wherein it was decided that priority would be given to the education and health sectors and intra village road during the first instalment of funds to be provided by the government.
The MLA also committed to earmark funds from his local area development fund for critical gap funding to make Denlo a true model village.
All were appreciative of a villager, who came forward to voluntarily donate 2500 square meters of land for the establishment of a new health unit at Denlo, which has already been notified by the state government.
MLA Mutchu advised all to make concerted effort for the development of the village as projects were prioritised according to the needs and suggestions by the people of the village.
Mutchu said the selection of Denlo village as a model one is the fulfilment of a promise he had made to the villagers to solve their problems of access to drinking water, basic healthcare and educational facilities.
Deputy Commissioner Namchoom said that the model village tag should not be only on paper. The development must come in true sense through asset creation in sectors, like education, health, power supply, water supply, roads, promotion of basic occupation and livelihood, she added.
She also advised the villagers to give priority on educating and sending their children to school. She advised them to actively participate in assessing and encouraging the students to perform better.
CO Olom Pangeng, BDO Angite Linggi and DPO Marto Dirchi also attended the programme. (DIPRO)
