DC takes stock of schools’ requirements

PANGIN, Jul 2: Siang Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh took stock of the requirements of the schools in the district during a meeting with officials of the education department here on Monday.
Besides the officials of the education department, administrative officers, principals, headmasters, and teachers attended the meeting.
The DC apprised the participants of the Samast Shiksha Yojana, Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana, Adhunik Patshala Yojana and the second phase of the Adhunik Shiksha Yojana launched by the state government, and informed them about the government’s ongoing initiatives in the education sector.
After taking stock of the requirements of the schools, he directed the block development officers (BEO) to inspect all the schools in their blocks and submit reports to him. Singh also sought information from the officers concerned about timely and adequate supply of books and uniforms in schools, biometric machines, operation of smart classroom devices which were installed in the first phase of the Adhunik Shiksha Yojana Scheme, implementation of the midday meal scheme, etc.
The DC directed the administrative officers to hold consultations with the public in their respective jurisdictions within a week to know the people’s needs and priorities. He asked them to prepare proposals in coordination with the BEOs, incorporating their findings.
“Henceforth teachers seeking leave will have to route their applications through the concerned administrative officer, so as to end the practice of unauthorized absence by the teachers,” he added.
Speaking about the poor performance of the district in the recently concluded exams, he said the hard work of the teachers would be rewarded and recognized while action would be taken against the poorly performing teachers. He also warned of strict action against absentee teachers.
DDSE Tanyang Tatak apprised the gathering of the activities being undertaken by the education department in the district. He also responded to various queries put forth by the participants.
Circle Officer Pebika Lego made a presentation on the schemes launched by the state government in the education sector.
The BEOs presented updates on the requirements of the schools, shortages, problems, and other issues being faced by the schools and the teachers of different blocks in the district. (DIPRO)
