ITANAGAR, Jul 4: The CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology Branch (NEIST), Itanagar branch organized two days science awareness programme under the project JIGYASA at the institute premises here on 3rd and 4th July.
Seventy-five students, along with their teachers from Kendriya Vidyalayas of Naharlagun and Itanagar attended the two days programme, which was held with the objective to develop scientific temper, motivate, and enhance curiosity, sprit of research and appreciation of science among the students and to empower the teachers.
The JIGYASA pro-gramme is expected to connect 1151 Kendriya Vidyalayas with 38 national laboratories of CSIR targeting 100,000 students and nearly 1000 teachers annually.
Dr Jagat C Borah, in-charge of NEIST, Itanagar highlighted about the project JIGYASA, while Dr Natarajan Velmurugan delivered a lecture on “Invention and Innovation and science in day to day life”.
Senior Scientist Dr Chandan Tamuly introduced the activities of CSIR-NEIST Branch Itanagar and showcased the products developed by the institute.
