Awareness camp on value chain development held

NAHARLAGUN, Jul 6: Members of farmers-producers companies (FPC), along with entrepreneurs involved in food processing, service providers, and officials of the Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board (APAMB) participated in an awareness camp on ‘Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER)’ at the agriculture directorate here on Friday.
Organized by the NEDFi in association with the APAMB, the programme was aimed at assisting organic farmers and entrepreneurs in getting subsidies for setting up various post-harvest management infrastructures under the mission.
MOVCDNER nodal officer Tadu Game highlighted the importance of value chain development for organic cultivation and enumerated the benefits available under the scheme for value chain processing.
Apex Bank managing director DK Thongdok spoke about the importance of FPCs, and emphasized the need of capacity building of the FPCs.
MOVCDNER mission coordinator Okit Paling made a presentation on the current status of the MOVCDNER in the state, and NEDFi manager Popy Sonowal spoke about the benefits of the scheme.
