AALO, Jul 6: West Siang DC Swetika asked all the line departments to conduct checking drives against the sale of tobacco products in restricted areas of the district.
She said this during a sensitization programme on the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) and the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act here on Friday.
During the programme, DMO Dr Nyage Geyi emphasized the need to work cohesively to bring awareness among the school children on the ill effects of tobacco products.
DTCC DPO Dr Jumbom Kato dwelt on the ill effects of tobacco consumption, and informed that awareness programmes on this are being organized at various schools of the district.
Officials from various departments and representatives from market committees also took part in the programme. (DIPRO)
