Assn seeks CS’ intervention

ITANAGAR, Jul 9: The All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical and Computer Engineers’ Association has sought the chief secretary’s intervention into various issues concerning the power and the hydropower departments.
In a representation to the CS, the association on Monday claimed that the electro-mechanical department under the hydropower department has still not formulated recruitment rules (RR), and urged the department to do so and conduct recruitment as per the RR.
Also claiming that the power department is still not enlisting contractor registration despite framing procedure rules, the association demanded early enlistment of unemployed graduate engineers for the same.
It also demanded reduction of contractor registration fees from the existing Rs 16,000, and scrapping of the annual cost update of 10 percent.
The association further demanded recruitment to 14 posts of assistant electrical inspector under the electrical inspectorate of the power (electrical) department as per the recruitment rules, and maintaining of the promotional slots and recruitment slots of 50-50 percent.
It also demanded that the power department advertise the posts of 12 junior engineers, which it claimed are presently lying vacant.
The association said it has submitted a copy of the memorandum to the chief minister.
