CHIMPU, Jul 12: The State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) celebrated the 69th Vanamahotsava with differently-abled children in the premises of the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing & Visually Impaired here on Thursday.
Tree saplings of different species, including Ashoka, Debadaru and Bokul, and fruit-bearing trees such as guava, jamun and jackfruit were planted along the roadsides and in the school compound by the students.
Chief Conservator of Forests Dusu Shra spoke on the importance of Vanamahotsava vis-a-vis tree plantation. The SFRI team also presented a computer set to the school.
The students presented a musical programme for the visitors.
