TEZU, Jul 29: The annual day of Bamboosa Library (BL) was celebrated with various programmes at the library premises here in Lohit district on Sunday.
Participating in the celebration, Tezu gaon burah Soloi Ngadong lauded the activities of Bamboosa Library.
“The library has been contributing to the development of self-confidence and personality of the readers since its inception,” he said, and urged the villagers to take advantage of the facility.
District Informatics Officer June Kadu expressed hope that students would take the advantage of the excellent services of the library for their own benefit and also motivate others to visit the library.
Bamboosa Library administrator Bapenlu Kri highlighted the facilities provided by the library. He asked teachers to encourage more students to visit the library use its services.
Lohit Youth Library Network coordinator S Mundayoor read out the annual report of the library. He exhorted intellectuals to motivate students to visit the library and improve their reading habit.
Ngadong gave away the annual Bhajan Award to outstanding library activists Kishalu Kri and Besunlu Mepong, and the Sister Nivedita Library Awards to outstanding reader-activists and volunteers Rejum Potom and Prem Pradhan.
Kadu gave away prizes to dedicated library activists, including Class 3 student Emume Mihu, who is also an activist of Abali Library, Roing.
Recitation of poems and story reading by the library activists and students were the other highlights of the celebration.
