PS calls for proper use of NERCORMP fund

CHANGLANG, Aug 11: DoTCL Parliamentary Secretary Tesam Pongte called for proper utilization of fund under the North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project (NERCORMP).
Addressing a meeting of the Changlang Community Resource Management Society here on Saturday, Pongte stressed that the benefits of the NERCORMP should reach everyone “and no deserving beneficiary should be left out.”
Changlang Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun suggested that the NERCORMP take up “tangible and sustainable” livelihood activities for the benefit of the communities. He also advised the NERCORMP team to share the list of beneficiaries with the administration to avoid duplicity with other government programmes.
NERCORMP Shillong’s Monitoring & Evaluation Director Adrian Marbaniang stressed on convergence with other line departments and placing of a monitoring system at the village level, while Changlang NERCORMP District Project Director Sukajit Ningthoujam presented a report on the status of implementation of NERCORMP projects in the district.
NABARD District Development Manager Kamal Roy spoke about the Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, and other schemes such as NLM, CM’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana, CM’s Krishi Samuh Yojana, etc.
