NAHARLAGUN, Aug 27: Twenty-four senior officers of the district administration are undergoing a three-day training programme on ‘Power and functions of drawing and disbursing officers (DDO)’ which began at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) here on Monday.
The programme is aimed at familiarizing the officers with the new innovations and rules in financial management in the affairs of the government, said ATI Director Pate Marik.
He said state government officers managing the state exchequer should have fair and thorough knowledge of the financial rules.
“Lots of changes have taken place on implementation of various Central Pay Commission recommendations. Therefore, those officers discharging the duties and responsibility of drawing and disbursing officers should have to update their knowledge on new financial rules and changes, which will help them to maintain financial discipline and propriety,” he said.
ATI Assistant Director Nani Khambo also spoke.
The training programme is sponsored by the union government’s department of personnel & training.
