APCC demands reduction in fuel taxes

ITANAGAR, Sep 4: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday criticized the BJP-led NDA government for failing to control the price of petrol, and alleged that the price of petrol is high in the country because of higher taxes.
In a press release, the Congress also asked the Pema Khandu-led BJP government in the state to immediately reduce all local taxes and VAT on fuels, saying the high rate of oil is increasing the rate of essential commodities.
“If the government fails to do so, the Congress would be forced to take the facts and figures to hold a dharna in the district headquarters, including the state capital, to explain to the masses how the state government has been looting in the name of ‘achhe din’,” the party said.
