DC assesses law and order situation

PANGIN, Sep 13: Siang Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Takuk convened a coordination meeting here on Thursday to assess the law and order situation and to prevent the occurrence of any untoward incident in the event of a blockade in Pangin area.
During the meeting, which was also attended by SP Kushal Pal Singh, other police officers, and public leaders of Pangin, the DC said progress and development would materialize only in a peaceful environment, and urged the agitators to adopt peaceful and democratic means to raise any contention.
Adding that an economic blockade would disrupt all developmental and normal activities, with the worst sufferers being the common public, the DC urged the agitators not to impose an economic blockade in the area.
The public leaders appreciated the administration and the police for their efforts in resolving the issue, and also placed the grievances of the public with respect to the headquarters issue.
They gave assurance that they would try their best to ensure a peaceful agitation. (DIPRO)
