Union seeks proper utilization of funds

ITANAGAR, Sep 21: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) in separate representations to the deputy commissioners of East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Kamle and Capital Complex on 16 September requested them to ensure that the funds are utilized for deprived schools and not allocated against defunct schools.
It also requested them not to issue receipt or NOC to the carriage contractors unless all textbooks are procured.
The union said it has through several memorandums and representations to the education department been seeking quality education and proper school infrastructure in all Nyishi-inhabited districts. It said it had convened a joint meeting on 11 June, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and RWD Minister Bamang Felix, regarding the matter.
The ANSU informed that its central executive members have decided that the union would “closely observe the fund placement made by the district authority to ensure genuine schools are covered under the Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Abhiyan,” and that it would also check for proper procurement of textbooks by all schools in Nyishi-inhabited areas.
The union said it would seek the status of requirement of subject teachers from the DDSEs of Nyishi-inhabited districts, and would submit the requirement to the education department prior to the teachers’ interview being conducted by the APPSC.
