AAPSU seeks strict BEFR implementation

ITANAGAR, Sep 23: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has suggested to the state government to strictly implement the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873; digitalize the ILP system at check gates; install CCTV cameras and metal detectors; and set up of additional ILP check points at various entry points.
The union also urged the state government to impose a blanket ban on rampant slaughter of mithun for commercial purposes, and hunting and killing of wild animals and birds.
It demanded stringent action against violators under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and other regulations.
