CS raises issue of SBI staff shortage

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has raised the issue of shortage of staff in the banks at Tirap, Changlang, Seppa and Namsai during a meeting with the officials of the State Bank of India.
The CS told SBI NE Circle Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar Tandon that due to shortage in staffs, banks were unable to depute required staff to the ‘Sarkar Apke Dwar’ events to facilitate the public to open bank accounts for financial inclusion under various central programmes.
The CS said that point of sale (POS) machines and micro-ATMs should be set up in remote areas for easy access of bank services even in remote locations.
He also asked the banks for proper implementation of the prime minister’s flagship schemes.
Tandon assured posting of sufficient numbers of staff in the state.
He also assured to provide sufficient employees in the various camps under ‘Sarkar Apke Dwar’, provided the bank is informed on time. (PRO, CS)
