Legal sensitization progs conducted

ITANAGAR, Sep 29: Issues like child labour, child marriage, human trafficking, women’s rights, domestic violence, sexual harassment, etc, were discussed during a workshop on ‘reintegration of delinquents into mainstream’ organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) here on Saturday.
Addressing the participants, APSLSA member secretary Budi Habung highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the state legal services authority in facilitating access to justice. He also spoke on the role of paralegal volunteers, besides the Juvenile Justice Act and the POCSO Act.
APSLSA legal aid counsels Jumgam Jini and Nani Modi were the resource persons.
The Upper Siang district legal services authority (DLSA) also organised a legal awareness camp for panchayat members, GBs, women’s organisations, and the public at Bomdo village on the same day.
DLSA secretary Mary Kamsi and advocates Tapang Tabing, Dipi Tasing, Kabang Taron and Oyem Panyang spoke about the schemes available under the legal aid services, women’s rights, the Juvenile Justice Board, the AFR, the Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, and the POCSO Act.
Legal brochures were also distributed among the participants.
