School celebrates silver jubilee

PASIGHAT, Sep 30: Siang Model Higher Secondary School here celebrated its silver jubilee with a series of events on Sunday.
Attending the function, MLA Kaling Moyong expressed happiness on the occasion and said, “Education is a capital investment made by parents for their children to pursue academic excellence.”
He lauded the school for achieving the milestone of 25 years, and for the relentless efforts of the managing committee headed by school secretary Yani Taloh.
Later, the MLA released a souvenir and gave away prizes to achievers.
East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak urged the teachers and parents to nurture and encourage their children to choose their desired fields, “so that they can make their careers better.”
MLA Kento Rina called upon the teachers to dedicate their time and energy to imparting quality education to the students.
Retired DSE Tapang Taloh, founder and chairman under the aegis of the Yaper Taloh Memorial Educational Society, listed out the achievements of the school.
He said the school’s vision “is not only to provide quality education but also making the school a centre for skill development.”
Principal Y Bipin Kumar presented the annual report and acknowledged the efforts of the students and teachers. (DIPRO)
