Lower Siang HQ issue discussed

LIKABALI, Oct 27: A joint meeting of various community-based organisations and administrative officials of Lower Siang district was held here on Saturday regarding early selection of a permanent site for the headquarters, and other issues pertaining to the newly-created Lower Siang district.
The meeting, chaired by DC AK Singh, discussed various problems of the newly set up district in terms of residential quarters, early selection of a permanent site for the HQ, and sharing of engineering offices located in different subdivisions of the district.
Leaders of the Lower Siang Elite Forum, the Galo Welfare Society, the Ramle Banggo Students’ Union, the Ramle Banggo Welfare Society, the Galo Students’ Union, the Ramle Banggo Youth Forum, and other Galo organizations requested the district administration for early submission of the feasibility report on the selected locations for setting up the permanent district headquarters.
A team of officials led by the DC inspected three proposed sites for setting up the permanent HQ, but it is yet to submit a feasibility report to the state government for notification.
Reportedly, the people of the district have given their preference to the four locations of Bali, Sijii, Sikirima, and Likabali town as the permanent headquarters of Lower Siang.
