Three arrested in drug raid

ROING, Oct 28: Three persons suspected to be consuming a drug-like substance (likely to be heroin) were detained during a raid conducted by the anti-drug squad at the house of one Tonnong Modi in Forest Colony here on Saturday.
While one of the drug users was Modi himself, the two others have been identified as Boss Lego and Tinkle Lego.
An envelope containing suspected heroin, along with an old, half-torn and partially burnt Rs 1000 note and 20 pieces of silver foil paper used for consuming drugs were seized from their possession.
The peddler who had sold the drug to the trio, identified as Mibom Passing, of Meka village, fled from the scene, leaving behind his motorcycle, which has been seized.
The raid and seizures were made by a team comprising Inspector RK Mishra, NDPS nodal officer Inspector Abraham Taying, CRPF OC Pawan Kumar, and constables Jingkak Darin, Tania Tarba and Rampel Lego, in the presence of CO Rakesh Tacho.
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the police station here and further investigation is underway.
“There will be no place for drug abusers and peddlers in Roing, and they will be taken to task,” Lower Dibang Valley SP Sanjay Kr Sain said.
