HC extends status quo on APPSCCE

NAHARLAGUN, Oct 31: The Itanagar permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court here on Wednesday extended status quo on the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) till the next hearing, scheduled for 8 November.
Some candidates had filed an interlocutory application on Tuesday seeking the constitution of a special investigation team to examine the entire process of the preliminary examination.
Accordingly, the court directed the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to respond to the application on 8 November.
Notably, the APPSC had already issued a notice that the APPSCCE (Mains) will begin from 10 November, 2018 with the General English paper.
On 28 August, the commerce candidates were the first to file a writ petition in the high court here, seeking redress of their grievances by the APPSC.
This was followed by another writ petition by aggrieved candidates of various other subjects on 27 September.
The preliminaries of the APPSCCE were held first on 29 November, 2017. Following accusations of anomalies, fresh exam was held on 29 July, 2018.
The results of the second preliminaries were declared on 2 August.
A second list of qualifying candidates (geography series C) was notified on 16 August.
