PALIN, Nov 1: Kra Daadi Deputy Commissioner S Miji chaired the first board meeting of the District Agriculture Development Society (DADS) here on Thursday to discuss sectoral allotment of funds and project proposals under the CM’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana (CMSKY) and Krishi Samuh Yojana (CMKSY).
Agriculture Development Officer Tojo Basar presented a brief on the DADS, the CMSKY and the CMKSY, and the agriculture and allied departments submitted proposals for setting up of a model farm on integrated farming system, preservation of local germplasm, setting up vermicompost units, dairy units, silkworm rearing units, integrated nutrient and pest management, and the like.
The DC advised the HoDs of agriculture and allied departments to work on a mission mode to ensure that the marginalized farmers reap the benefits and the district becomes self-sufficient in terms of food production. He also advised the departments to submit their DPRs within a week.
Several progressive farmers from the district also participated in the meeting. (DIPRO)
