Student leader passes away

PASIGHAT, Nov 1: All Bogong Students’ Union (ABSU) president Baku Tamin passed away on the night of 31 October at Sanjivani Hospital in Dibrugarh (Assam) after a brief illness.
The people of Pasighat have expressed their deepest condolences over the tragic demise of the young and energetic student leader.
A native of Mongku village in East Siang district, Tamin (32) had joined the ABSU in 2013 as its vice-president, and was leading the union as president since 2016.
His last rites were performed at Late Onyok Moyong Ecological Park here on Thursday.
All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union general secretary Tobom Dai and ABSU general secretary Sailendar Jamoh, along with associate members, members of the Pasighat Market Association, and a host of officers and leaders were also present, and the business community here closed all transactions as a mark of respect.
Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering, MLA Kaling Moyong, former minister Bosiram Siram, DC Tamiyo Tatak and others expressed deep shock over the sudden demise of the young leader, and said Tamin’s legacy would continue to inspire students for years to come.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul, and for strength to the bereaved family. (DIPRO)
