OYAN, Nov 17: The Itanagar-based regional office of the Tea Board of India conducted cleanliness drives at the hospital and school of the Donyi Polo tea estate here in East Siang district on 5 and 14 November as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada (cleanliness fortnight) programme.
Short speech and quiz competitions on the importance of cleanliness were also held among the students of the upper primary school at the tea estate. The event also featured planting of saplings of fruits and flowers in and around the school and the hospital, besides a demonstration on the use of dustbins and hand-washing techniques, and creating awareness on the use of toilets.
