Bring laurels to district and state: Pario

NEW PALIN, Nov 26: Palin-Chambang MLA Takam Pario urged the sportspersons of Kra Daadi district to bring laurels to the district and the state.
He said this on Monday after inaugurating the 2nd district level chess tournament organized by the Kra Daadi District Chess Association (KDDCA) here.
Pario stressed the need of playing games and sports to remain fit and healthy.
“With the state government keeping quotas for meritorious sportspersons in the government departments, it is a huge motivation for the budding sportspersons of the state,” he said.
BEO Biri Tach in his address called upon the young sportspersons of the district to maintain discipline to achieve success in their chosen fields.
KDDCA president Tassar Mohan also spoke.
Forty-six chess players, including two women, from different parts of the district are taking part in the tournament, which will continue till 28 November.
The tournament is being judged by senior national arbiters Taba Anam and Tapi Shah.
