ITANAGAR, Dec 14: The All Papum Pare District Students’ Union (APPDSU) has written to the education secretary, seeking replacement of director of elementary education (DEE) Tapi Gao by an IAS or APCS officer.
In its representation to the secretary, the union alleged that the present director has been appointed in violation of the laid down norms.
“Rule 55 (iii) of the Arunachal Pradesh Rules, 2010, under the Arunachal Pradesh Education Act, 2010, clearly states that the director of elementary education shall be
a post of departmental promotion from among the joint directors of school education who has completed five years of regular service in the grade.
However, Tapi Gao, who was appointed as joint director vide Order No SEDN-39/92 (Pt III), dated 13-10-2014, has been appointed as in-charge director of elementary education vide Order No SEDN/DEE/184/2015 on 30-10-2015, which is violation of the mandatory provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Education Rules, 2010,” the APPDSU stated.
The union urged the secretary to revert the present director to his original post of joint director and appoint an IAS or APCS officer or a joint director who has experience of five years to the post of DEE.
