NOIDA, Jan 18: The Arunachal Pradesh tourism department participated in the South Asian Tourism and Travel Exhibition (SATTE) organized by the union tourism ministry at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
The three-day exhibition, which concluded on Friday, was a “business-to-business travel trade show, with an aim to increase tourists’ inflow in the country,” Jolin Minj from Arunachal Tourism informed in a release.
Besides New Delhi Arunachal Bhavan’s Resident Tourism Officer Adong Moyong, registered tour operators from Arunachal Pradesh – Baming Baro from Ziro (Lower Subansiri)-based Eastern Voyagers Travel & Expedition, and David Sangtam and Pem Sonam from Tawang-based Tribal Discovery Tour and Travel – participated in the event.
Scores of people, particularly interested domestic tourists, queued up at the Arunachal stall and enquired about the state.
“Participating in the SATTE is crucial for a state like Arunachal Pradesh where tourism is an important source of revenue,” said Minj. “With the state now relaxing the norms for tourists, it is catching the attention of many travellers around the world.”
