Review meeting on PMAY-HFA (U) held

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 1: The Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) in collaboration with the city level training cell (CLTC) team from the Itanagar cluster organized an ‘awareness programme-cum-review meeting on beneficiary-led-construction component (house construction process) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing for All (Urban)’ – the PMAY-HFA (U) – at the IMC office here on Friday.
Addressing the participants, Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso urged the beneficiaries to take full benefit of the PMAY-HFA (U), a flagship programme of the central government. “There should not be homeless citizens in the capital area,” he said, and urged the officers and officials to release Rs 50,000 as advance money under the scheme for the economically poor people to help them build their houses.
SSW Marcony Potom explained the various components of the PMAY-HFA (U), such as beneficiary led construction (BLC), the credit linked subsidy scheme, and the process of payment.
He informed the beneficiaries that under the BLC component, the government is giving a onetime assistance in three installments for construction of a house for up to Rs 1.5 lakhs, so that every citizen owns a house by 2022.
He urged the IMC’s officers and officials to release the first installment to the beneficiaries at the earliest, and to submit necessary documents for the release of the second installment.
During the technical session, resource person Jummo Potom spoke on the BLC house construction process, and about the recent changes made in the guidelines under the PMAY-HFA (U).
MIS expert from CLTC, Techi Yaniam, spoke on the mode of payment through the PFMS to the beneficiaries. This was followed by an interactive session with the beneficiaries.
Among others, former IMC deputy chief councillor Tarh Nachung, IMC EAC Hengo Basar and social development expert (SLTC) Jummo Potom attended the programme.
