Villagers urged to maintain cleanliness

HARI, Feb 8: State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen called upon the people of Hari village in Lower Subansiri district to keep their surroundings neat and clean.
Addressing a function organized to celebrate the third anniversary of the formation of the Hari Employees and Pensioners’ Welfare Association (HEPWA) at the secondary school auditorium here on Thursday, Kojeen advised the villagers to organize drives to clean up their village and its surrounding areas, including the traditional irrigational system, as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He also highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness in Ziro plateau because of it being a potential tourist destination.
On the occasion, HEPWA meritorious awards were conferred on former secretary of Hari village and HGB, late Hage Kano, and former chairman of Hari village, late Tasso Pai, in recognition of their meritorious services to the people of Hari village and the Apatani community.
