Union defers Kra Daadi bandh

PALIN, Feb 16: The All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union informed in a release on Saturday that it has deferred its proposed 24-hour district bandh on 18 February as it has received assurance from the deputy commissioner that the administration would look into the union’s demand.
The union said the DC has constituted a committee under his own chairmanship to examine the complaint lodged by the union. It, however, said it would renew its movement if the committee does not work in an unbiased manner.
The union requested all political parties, political leaders and contractors to not pressurize the committee during the selection process for their political benefits and personal interests.
The union is alleging biased selection of schools for implementation of the Chief Minister’s Samasth Shiksha Yojana, saying that “many deserving schools, which should have been selected, were deprived from the scheme.”
