Black Warrior scores 5-1 win over Khampu in MSL

MODEL VILAGE, Feb 17: Day seven of the ongoing Model Super League (MSL) football tournament saw a goal fest in both the matches played at the general ground here on Sunday.
Dark horses of the MSL, Black Warrior FC, scored a thumping 5-1 victory over Khampu FC, taking them to the top of the table.
Tai Nyom opened the scoring at the 15th minute, and then the floodgates opened with Nanu Degio and Tadar Nitin doubling and tripling the lead.
In the second half, Black Warrior FC continued their domination under their captain Rahul Akon, and Nabam Taju and Nanu Degio scored the fourth and fifth goals.
Nabam Rodo scored a consolation goal for Khampu FC.
The second match saw a tough fight between Queens Gate Public School (QGPS) and Real Model FC.
Despite taking the lead twice, QGPS failed to hold it and lost the match 3-2 after Real Model FC clawed back a win with Techi Pucho scoring a winner in injury time of the second half.
Chama Nabam, Joe Tajo and Techi Puchi scored the goals for Real Model FC, while Khoda Tama and Tarh Tatu scored for QGPS.
Nanu Degio and Techi Puchi were given the ‘man of the match’ awards by engineer Techi Topu Tara and Mrs India World contestant Gebi Basar Mannow, respectively.
The next matches will be played on 23 February between Real Model FC and Commando FC at 3 pm, and between Thug Life Bulls FC and Black Warriors FC at 6 pm.
